Our Third Annual Operation Giveback 5K/10K/Kids Run.Walk.Roll event will once again be held at the University of Central Florida main campus in Orlando, Fla., on Saturday, May 11, 2013.

How to Participate

You can find out more information on our event and register to Run, Walk or Roll your way through the 2013 race when posted to the website. If you would like to help raise money for our cause or just make a general donation to support OGB Section 60, please click the "Donate" link to the right.

Those companies, organizations, etc. wishing to become a race sponsor in 2013 can find out more information on the benefits and levels by clicking the "Sponsor" link on the right.

Where: The University of Central Florida Main Campus in Orlando, Florida.

Cost:  - 10K - $45.00; Race Day - $50.00
           - 5K   - $30.00; Race Day - $35.00
           - Runners age 18 & under are $20.00 for either distance, Race Day - $25.00
           - "Warrior Kids" Race is $5.00 per child ages 10 and under (Race day registration or at Expo only - details below)

Operation-Giveback Expo: A race expo will be held at the University of Central Florida newly built Student Government Association Study Area located within the UCF Arena on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 10:00am - 7:00pm.  Sponsors and other vendors will be present and this is a great opportunity to pick up your race packet and avoid the lines on race-day.  Remember to sign your name at the "Win a Free Sub" table.  A free Subway sandwich will be given away each hour with winner announced and posted at the awards/raffle tent on Race Day.

Packet Pick-Up:  Race number (Bib), D-tag for electronic timing, Technical T-Shirt, and the rest of your race packet can be picked up at our pre-race expo on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 10:00am - 7:00pm at the University of Central Florida and the day of the race beginning at 5:45 am.  Parking and Directions can be viewed above.

Expo / Race-Day Parking - Free parking will be available to all runners in the UCF outdoor parking lots and Garage D across from the UCF Arena.  Map and directions can be downloaded above.

Race Perks / Amenities:  All runners participating in the Operation Giveback 5K/10K will receive a commemorative Technical T-Shirt and one raffle ticket for a chance to win a variety of items. Post-Race food and beverages will be provided to everyone.

Chip Timing: Both events will utilize ChronoTrack Systems "D-Tag" to uniquely identify every participant and electronically records the individual's time when crossing sensor mats.  Results will be posted live at the race and then on our website.  Allied Race Management in Melbourne will be providing the timing.

Race Course: Course map can be viewed above and downloaded above.  Water and Gatorade will be located at Mile 1 and Mile 2 for the 5K race and Mile 1, Mile 3.1, and Mile 5.1 for the 10K race.

Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female overall runners.  In addition, the top three male and female runners of each age group, top male/female master (40+), and top wheelchair will receive awards for both the individual 10K and 5K race. 

Individual Age Group Divisions: 10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+ 

Team Info & Registration:

The Operation-Giveback 10K/5k event offers friends, co-workers, etc. the ability to put together teams to compete against one another or just to dress alike for some fun, camaraderie, and team spirit. 

How it Works:
There is no limit to the number of people allowed to be on a team.  The only requirement is that the team has enough people to fill out a scorecard if they wish to be scored.  The number of participants needed for team scoring is:

4 men if you wish to enter as a Men's Team
4 women if you wish to enter as Women's Team
2 men and 2 women if you wish to enter as a Mixed Team

Team Registration:
When registering as part of a team, please select "yes" on the first page of the registration page when asked if you are running as part of a team competing in one of our team divisions.  On the second page, you will type in your team name and select your team division category.

Awards:
  Awards will be given to the top three Mens, Women, and Mixed Team.

"Boots on Ground" Award
The "Boots on the Ground" award is a friendly competition to recognize companies/organizations/groups that register the most participants in the event. The top organization with the most registered participants will be awarded at the race awards ceremony and mentioned in our "thank you" media ads after the event.  If you would like your company, organization, or group  to be added to our list of participating groups, please contact the registration team at registration@operation-giveback.com with the appropriate name to be added.  Individuals most select the company, organization, or group at time of registration. 

"Warrior Kids" Zone Fun Run
Following the 5K/10K, there will be a Kids Fun run for children 10 & under. The cost is $5 dollars and registration will be held at the race Expo and on-site the day of the race ONLY. All children will receive a ribbon and other small Wounded Warrior Project items showing their support for our wounded service men and women.  Two starts/distances will be offered depending on child’s age/ability.
